August 22nd and 23rd, 2008
The Build-a-Thon is a state-wide building extravaganza that
brings together the efforts of seven Habitat affiliates and
hundreds of volunteers to work to build homes, raise money, and
raise awareness that will help to bring the dream of
homeownership to low-income families. Although this event will
occur statewide, all funds generated on Leeward Habitat will
support Habitat’s efforts to eliminate substandard housing on
the Leeward Coast of Oahu.
In 2008, Leeward Habitat is looking for the help of 150
builder-participants that will help by swinging hammers and
raising pledges to help build Leeward Habitat homes. Last year
an entire home was framed in one day and over $50,000 raised.
This year we hope to do more!
NEW THIS YEAR
AT THE BUILD-A-THON!

Executive Build: The Executives Build will be held on
Friday, August 22nd from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. to highlight
companies and their executives giving back to the community.
Supporting and Major Sponsors are invited to participate in
this media friendly event.

Company Challenge: Each company agrees to match the
donations that its employee Build-a-Thon volunteers raise.
Company volunteers will work on Saturday, August 23rd at one
of our build sites. Leeward Habitat asks that each company
pledges to raise a minimum of $1500.

Anniversary of becoming a Habitat affiliate. In 2008 we will be
celebrating our third year of working to build homes with
low-income families.
